Hey, we've got this!

From a young age, I was captivated by the potential of creativity. I spent my childhood doodling in class, driven by a relentless curiosity to understand and improve the world around me. My sketches were not just drawings but questions, explorations of how we could imagine better solutions and create a more sustainable future. This passion for creative expression led me to pursue a career in digital design, where I found a therapeutic outlet in a world that often feels entrenched in struggle.

My career began early, where I learned the ancient craft of sign painting. As the internet and digital technology revolutionized the landscape, I adapted, recognizing the importance of helping people communicate their values effectively. I developed a keen eye for identifying businesses in need of a visual overhaul, leading to total redesigns, branding and print/web campaigns. I learned to create cohesive identity systems across multiple media channels, understanding that a well-intended message must be communicated consistently.

After earning my associate degree in sign art, I continued my education and shifted towards the digital landscape, and was repelled by the environmental impact of traditional petroleum based sign-making materials. I expanded my education to learn the art of coding and animation. I founded a successful full-service design company but as time went on, I felt a growing discontent with the true impact of my work. This led me to further my education at ArtCenter College of Design, where I focused on projects with a higher purpose, steering away from consumerism and capitalism.

During my time at ArtCenter, I served as president of the EcoCouncil and the AIGA , learning the responsibilities of our vocation and advocating for conscious design. I also taught courses for over ten years that went beyond technical skills, promoting awareness of the profound influence design can have on society.

My career also took me to Hollywood, where I worked with clients like Netflix, HBO, and blockbuster movies. I later worked at the global ad agency, Chiat/Day, managing large-scale projects and tight deadlines. Their client roster included industry giants such as Apple, Adidas, Energizer and Gatorade. The money was nice, but I became dissatisfied and felt the soul sucking nature of the ad world.  Despite the financial success, I felt unfulfilled by the consumerist agenda. This realization led me to channel my efforts towards education and societal improvement.

At the Huntington, I created digital experiences for public good, managing projects from end to end and collaborating with government agencies and stakeholders. Yet, I yearned for more. This led me to Procore Technologies, where I thrived in an environment that valued appreciation and support of its employees, with the mission to improve lives. I established a design system that saved significant time for designers and developers and explored big data insights and AI, helping to drive innovation in how we build the world around us. I am once again seeking a higher purpose.

I am committed to explore projects that resonate deeply with me, filling me with inspiration. I am eager to join a group of like-minded individuals committed to taking responsibility for our planet and shaping a future filled with imagination and innovation.
